These are extremely bold, hand painted designs, that show intense colour and pattern. Collier Campbell designs are all painted by hand, which is what distinguishes them from a lot of other products out there. They state it gives them a 'fluidity and freshness' that computer generated designs are incapable of matching. This is the route that I feel the Brabantia designs should go down. This will make them stand out, whilst being suited to the kitchen environment. It will also give me the opportunity to explore a new illustrative technique.

Cloud9 Fabrics are extremely passionate about eco-sensible fabrics, which is an aspect that makes them stand out from the rest of the competition in this market area. They wanted to create contemporary designs that were on-trend, eco-friendly and also affordable. The above fabrics are part of a range title 'The Land That Never Was', depicting a world of marvel . These pattern designs are extremely bright and refreshing. The chosen colours inevitably make them very eye catching, and the hand rendered illustrations make them playful and modern.

These patterns show how design can be applied onto products. Although the colours are quite contrasting and sickly, it's interesting to see how size, colour and illustration can work on different surfaces. Sometimes it's quite tricky to apply a repeated pattern across some products, so it's informative to see how this can work.

These pattern designs have been applied to wallpaper, and are available in a number of different colours. The option of having a range of colours allows the audience to pick and choose depending on what suits their interior. Home decoration is extremely personal and therefore not everyone is going to have an environment that suits. By having colour option, you are gaining a wider target market.
