CATH KIDSTON - initital ideas

Colour Palette

As colour is going to be an important factor in my design, I wanted to explore the colours used within Cath Kidston's existing designs. They state that they have a bold and distinctive colour palette, therefore this should be explored.

English Heritage

Using the English heritage website, I have been able to research into England's past, and what defines it today. English Heritage exists to help people understand, value, care for and enjoy England's unique heritage. The site is known for looking after the National Heritage Collection of historic sites and monuments, as well as the guardianship of over 500,000 objects and 12 million photographs.

The collection ranges from prehistoric stone circles to a 1960s nuclear bunker, and includes Stonehenge and Hadrian's Wall, Charles Darwin's diaries and the Duke of Wellington's boots.

Yorkshire

From the fascinating Servant's Wing in Brodsworth Hall to the stunning architecture of our Gothic and medieval abbeys, there is plenty to discover in Yorkshire this season.

Rievaulx Abbey: Among the most atmospheric of all ruined abbeys.
Clifford's Tower: Offering fabulous views over the City of York.
Whitby Abbey: Discover the abbey's link to Dracula.
Brodsworth Hall: Where time really does stand still.

North West

With spectacular scenery, commanding castles, a Roman Wall and fascinating historical sites, the North West of England offers great days out for all the family this season.

Beeston Castle and Woodland Park: Spectacular location enjoying stunning views over eight counties.
- Carlisle Castle: 900 years of history within these formidable walls.
- Hadrian's Wall: A World Heritage Site stretching over 72 miles.
- Lanercost Priory: One of Cumbria's best preserved monasteries.

London

Discover great days out in London at some of the capital's most iconic houses and gardens this season. From the inspiring Wellington Arch with its year-round programme of exhibitions to the Art Deco decadence of Eltham Palace, there is plenty to do for all the family.

Apsley House: Explore Regency history and one of the finest art collections in London.
- Audley End House and Gardens: Discover life below stairs.
- Eltham Palace and Gardens: Immerse yourself in the glamour of the Art Deco period.
- Wellington Arch: See glorious views over the capital of England.
