CHAMPNEYS - net labels

In order to create the labels for the nets, we decided to print out a prototype and put it together so that we could work out what was visually more effective in terms of layout and scale. We decided to include a front label and a back label. The front label would include the logo, product name, product description and product measurements in ml.

We hand drew a front and back label before printing out a test label to see what would work best on our packaging. We decided that it would be nice to not fill the entire face of the packaging, and instead make use of the pattern. The label needed to be quite simplistic and more high end looking to make a contrast with the pattern. This was also necessary because we didn't want to travel too far away from existing champney's products.

From this, myself and Steph sat down together and started to figure out what would be placed on each label, as names and descriptions would change on each. The descriptions of each product needed to show the types of health and well being benefits that Champney's can offer individuals. This will then go on to link to digital aspects of the sub brand, such as the app and blog.

Now that we had all of the information, we could then sit down and develop the labels digitally. We did this together in order to allow for input and editing. Below are the final labels created for each product. We used measurements from our mockups to get a size that would be appropriate, however, on some of the packaging, such as the eye makeup remover, the width had to be changed due to the format of the box. This didn't effect the overall aesthetic, and still worked as part of a set.

We made use of white space on the labels, to break up how busy the pattern is on the packaging. The type was also spaced out to make it more legible and to also give it a high end visual. We made sure to keep the content friendly and but informative, targeting our audience with the use of a play on words for the titles.

Back labels

The reverse labels were to be kept as simple as possible. As we are planning on including a leaflet within each of the product boxes, there was no need for any unnecessary information on the back. We therefore decided to include the logo, name, ingredients and barcode. We used existing packaging in order to find out more about ingredients, layout and information that should be placed within this space.
