YEARBOOK - gathering content

From the students we needed a range of content including:

- A maximum of three images of their work

- 200 word statement
- Contact details

In order to gather this information, we had a meeting with Duncan to discuss the best method. As a team we decided that the best way to reach the students was through their studio forum, as this is a place they interact with often. Duncan will also set up some drop boxes.

Together we wrote up everything that we needed and posted it on the forum.

Hi guys,
We are Beth, Emily and Jenna from graphics, you may have seen us the other day taking some photographs in the studio. We just wanted to let you know what is happening with the development of the year book and what we need from you!

1. 200 WORD STATEMENT
We would like this to focus on your time on the course rather than you describing your work as we are aware this can change overtime. For example we want to know more about your experience on the course like, what you have enjoyed on the course, the facilities, visiting professionals, tutor support etc. This statement will be presented alongside your work in the book.

2. IMAGE SUBMISSION
Firstly, we would like you to submit 3 images maximum of your work. These can be three completely different pieces, or different parts of the same piece. Please take into consideration how these images will work alongside each other within the publication. We will ultimately decide on how many images will go on each persons page, so please order your images in terms of preference.

PART 1 - SCANNING/DIGITAL FILES
This is the preferred entry of submission as it will be higher quality and more appropriate for print.
Requirements
1. High resolution images, this is 300DPI.
2. CMYK colour mode, this is necessary for print.
3. Save as TIFF, file type. If you are saving a illustrator file, export this as a TIFF.

PART 2 - PHOTOGRAPHING
If the above is not appropriate for your work as it may be 3-D or has a process that you want to capture, then we are setting up a photography studio Friday 28th March, where you can have your work photographed by a photography student. If this is something that is necessary for your practice, please let us know ASAP by replying to this discussion so we can set up a sign up.

If you have any questions regarding the above, do not hesitate in getting in touch.

Thanks in advance for your co-operation, Beth, Emily and Jenna.

Duncan then posted all of the information on the main page.
