HARRY RAMSDENS - restaurant branding

By looking at other restaurant branding I am able to gain a better understanding of how logos and visuals can be applied throughout an appropriate range of products, as well as how these can be applied within the environment.

The National, Love and War









The National makes use of a limited black and white colour scheme, which is carried on throughout the entire restaurant, in order to create a simple but effective visual. The illustrations add a level of intricacy and personality to the brand, creating a contemporary feel. Each product works well as part of a continuous range, which is then brought through into a digital medium. 

Gottino, Avec and 5 in 1





Again, Gottino makes use of intricate illustrations in a restricted colour scheme allowing for an upmarket and contemporary feel to the brand. A luxury stock has been used for the products, reflecting the values and price of the restaurant. 

Polpo, Richard Marazzi






Polpo has chosen specific imagery in order to reflect the type of restaurant and food that is available. Contemporary methods of displaying menus, as well as interesting take away packaging offers a unique visual and experience. 

Salt Box, Elyse Taylor




Salt Box shows attention to detail throughout it's entire product range, showing thought and consideration as well as creating a contemporary and unique visual. The use of brown stock offers an organic and natural feel, which works well with the illustrations of the herbs and spices. The take away boxes also take on a different approach to what you would usually expect from a restaurant. 

The Barn, AndSmith





The Barn has used quirky imagery and illustrations to create a interesting contrast between detail and playfulness. Again, the colour palette has been restricted, with the addition of gold foiling on a number of it's products. This adds a sense of expense to the branding.

Capital Kitchen, Cornwell and Mim Design





The use of yellow within this restaurant branding creates a really unique and bright detailing that reflects a happy and positive atmosphere. Type and illustration has been used together effectively on way finding, and throughout the restaurant packaging and print based material.
